Santa Fe is a 5th class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines.
The town of Sta. Fe was formerly one of the baranggays of the municipality of Bantayan and its name was Ogtong, a name derived from the fish locally known as “Kogtong”, a big specie of the lapulapu fish which was abundant at that time. By the superior decree of the Spanish government, aranggay Ogtong became a town in 1872 and the town’s name was changed to Sta. Fe.
Santa Fe’s main industries are tourism and fishing.

The municipality of Sta. Fe is one of the three municipalities comprising the island of Bantayan, located in the northwestern tip of Cebu Province. The other 2 municipalities are Bantayan and Madridejos.
Santa Fe can be reached by V-Hires (vans) or Bus from Cebu North Terminal via Hagnaya wharf in Bogo which is about 110 kilometers from Cebu City and is about 2-3 hours travel time. From Hagnaya take a ferry boat to Sta. Fe which will take about 30 minutes to cross the 18 km. distance.

Sta. Fe is composed of 10 barangays, namely: Hagdan, Hilantagaan, Kinatarkan, Langub, Maricaban, Okoy, Poblacion, Balidbid, Pooc and Talisay.
According to the 2000 census, Santa Fe has a population of 22,956 people in 4,444 households.
