Naukban Lagoon
The Naukban Blue Lagoon is one of the tourist attractiosn in Pilar, Camotes. It is located in Barangay San Isidro or on the eastern part of Ponson Island. The lagoon has an area of more than five hectares and is deep like a lake that developed from a volcano crater however, there’s no report of any volcano formation in the island.

There’s a tale about Naukban Blue Lagoon and based on the story of some locals, it was a symbol of love fulfilled between two fairies. A goblin from San Isidro, Pilar was deeply in love with a beautiful fairy in Merida, Leyte. The parents of the fairy did not like the goblin but it seems that nobody can stop their emotions. So the parents of the fairy set a condition that they will allow the goblin to marry their daughter if he will bring in a piece of land from San Isidro to their house in Merida, Leyte.
To prove his true love with the fairy, the goblin agree with the condition and transported more than five hectares of land from San Isidro in Pilar, Camotes to Merida, Leyte. How he transported the land to Merida, Leyte…, that we don’t know. The area where the piece of land was extracted became the Naukban Blue Lagoon.

In Barangay Puertobello, Merida Leyte, there’s a wide and flat rice field. At the middle of the rice field, there’s a hill of land that looks like it was artificially brought there and has an area of around five hectares. Some people believed, that it was the piece of land that was extracted from San Isidro, Pilar, Camotes. Believe it or not???
