Governor Gwen Garcia as Goddess of the Sea - Sinulog 2008

Governor Gwendolyn “Gwen” Garcia fits on a trial version of the crown she will be wearing during the Sinulog 2008 Grand Finale. International fashion designer Cary Santiago says he’ll embellish it with crystals as part of the governor’s role as “Goddess of the Sea” when she performs with Bantayan’s Palawod contingent.

Phew, here’s another highlight to definitely watch out for in this year’s Sinulog Festival: the costume and performance of Cebu’s first woman governor, Gwen Garcia. This will be the 4th time the governor will perform in the Sinulog Grand Finale. Every year, since the governor’s first performance in the Sinulog Festival, everyone has come to look forward to the presence of two of Cebu’s high-profile women - the Cebu City first lady Margot Osmeña and the governor herself, Gwen Garcia.
