Sinulog sa Kabataan this Saturday, Sunday

Performers from the different schools in the province and cities of Cebu will showcase talent and creativity during the Sinulog sa Kabataan-Lalawigan on Saturday, January 10, and Sinulog sa Kabataan-Dakbayan on Sunday, January 11.

Provincial contingents will perform on January 10 while city groups will display their dance routine on January 11.

While there are considerably fewer groups participating in this year’s Sinulog sa Kabataan, Sinulog Foundation executive director Ricky Ballesteros said this will not in any way detract from the pageantry and pomp of Cebu’s Sinulog Grand Parade.

Sinulog sa Kabataan winners will also perform and compete in the street dance competition on the 18th.

The Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan will start with a parade of participants from Capitol to the Cebu City Sports Center at 1 p.m. The contest will happen at 2 p.m. and the awarding of winners will be at 4:30 p.m.

The Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Dakbayan will also start with a parade at 1 p.m., but from Plaza Independencia. Performers will then converge at the Cebu City Sports Center where the contest proper will be held at 2 p.m. Awarding of winners will also be at 4:30 p.m.

At least 45 contingents from various cities and provinces have confirmed their participation in the street dance competition. Of this figure, over 10 groups are from out-of-town. (MDL/Sunnex)
