The Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan Competition 2010 is now over. The event was an overwhelming success! A total of 15 contingents from the various cities and municipalities in the Province of Cebu danced to the Sinulog beat and wowed thousands of spectators. The Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan 2010 Street Dance started at exactly 1 in the afternoon from the iconic Cebu Provincial Capitol. It then passed by Fuente Osmeña, then through Osmena Blvd., then it finally entered the Cebu City Sports Complex grounds.

Talisay City National High School – Secondary Division

The competition was composed of 2 categories: the Elementary Schools Division and The Secondary (High School) Schools Division. Supposedly, only the winners, the Top 5, of each category, are entitled (obliged) to join the Sinulog Grand Parade next Sunday, January 17, 2010 but since Sinulog Foundation Chairman and Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama was very much impressed with the performances, he used his “powers” and now, ALL the participating contingents can join the Sinulog 2010 Grand Parade! Amazing!

Bulacao Elementary School (Talisay) – Elementary Division

The winners of the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan 2010 are:
ELEMENTARY DIVISION

4th runner up: Bogo City Delegation – Bogo City

3rd runner up: Cambanay and DT Elementary School – Danao City

2nd runner up: North City Central School – West Toledo District, Toledo City

1st runner up: Santa Filomena Elementary School – Alegria

CHAMPION and Best in Costume: Pajo Elementary School – Lapulapu City

SECONDARY DIVISION

4th runner up: Department of Education – Naga City – West Poblacion, Naga City

3rd runner up: Toledo City Department of Education – Toledo National Vocational School

2nd runner up: Talisay City National High School – Talisay City Division

1st runner up: Silaw Culture and Arts – Carcar City (Carcar Central National High School)

CHAMPION and Best in Costume: Tayud National High School – Tayud, Consolacion

Tomorrow, Cebu City’s very own elementary pupils and secondary students will be battling it out for the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Dakbayan 2010. So what are you waiting for? Hit the streets and enjoy Sinulog 2010! Pit Senyor!
