DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT check in at Budyong Beach Resort at Santa Fe.

My friends and I gave a down payment amounting to 2,600 pesos even before arriving at the island. When we got to the resort, their front desk told us that they never received a single peso. My friend, the one who personally deposited the money, called her bank informing about said debacle.

However, her bank assured her that the funds did reach the intended destination (which is of course Budyong’s bank account). Adamant about not receiving the down payment, their management demanded that we PAY the amount in cash.

They promised to PAY US back said amount when they finally receive the money through wire transfer.

It has nearly been a month since our trip to Bantayan and still Budyong claims that they HAVE NOT YET received our initial down payment through wire transfer.

We have reason to believe that this is their modus operandi when dealing with prospective clients. This way, they would incur much more profit.

Republic Act No. 7394 (also known as the Consumer Act of the Philippines) ensures that the general public (upon entering the legal bounds of trade and product consumption) is protected against “deceptive, unfair and unconscionable sales acts and practices” (Art. 2, Sec. C).

Clearly Budyong Beact Resort DOES NOT COMPLY with this particular law, so much so that it is willing to tarnish its own name just for the sake of 2,600 pesos.

As a citizen scorned by such unlawful practices, I urge you, dear reader, to spread the word and inform your friends, relatives, and colleagues of this act of malice happening on such a breathtakingly beautiful island.

very strange indeed Did you guys not think to take your transaction receipt with you when you turned up. You might have gotten one digit wrong. I would write a letter to the resort in clude a copy of your receipt then thy will have a good detail to find out from their bank account and then transfer the money back.

I may say this place is not for “fine people”…this place is just below average for tourist and perhaps an average place for locals looking for a cheap place to stay.A great disappointment when we were there. The food storage is most shocking! After they took out and tin up meat from freezer, cutting some part they needed for costumer food order… and back to freeze the meat once again!(I cannot imagine how many times) the cook said its “normal” way to do it! Yakk!… good its not ours…we end up eating somewhere else. So be careful, check the actual place before you check inn, and dont be shy asking a short visit in the kitchen while they preffering foods…take care of your personal belongings…someone advice us to do so. There are other choices to stay like Marlins, St Bernards and more. Dont try Kota Beach, tap water “stinks” and beware of “peeping tom”. Good luck. Straw

    Hi,

    Mike’s accusation is serious!
I hope Budjong you are going to address this issue or we are going to have this investigated and reported to the right government agencies.

Your license for operation might be revoked.

Hi Budyong take any payment issues seriously. Mike needs to get back to Budyong with his proof of payment. and contact details. I Personally contacted them about this case. The owners son told me this has been refunded already. He would appreciate if Mike would contact him to get this cleared up.

Budyong Beach resort is a family owned and run business.

Employing many local people that do there best to provide a friendly service to both Filipino and foreign tourists.
They have many regular guests returning year after year myself being one of them. Although they are not trying to be a 5star resort They definitely provided me with everything I expected from an island beach holiday.

The food is fine as good as it gets on an island, the staff are friendly but ever changing.

I think they have rooms now with kitchen so long stay guests and do self catering.

All you want after the journey on the bus and ferry is a smile from the reception.

But what is best about Budyong is the BEACH.

There is a web site with contact details budyong.net

Have a nice stay and check out all the santa fe area .

my friends and i stayed at this resort just this month. we rented thier motorcycle and it turned out the unit is not in good condition which caused a tire blow-up. despite the accident the owner did not attend to our injured companions and worst is charged us for the damaged on the motorcycle.. tsk.. tsk… tsk… not recommended
